STORY MOJA HAY FESTIVAL-Kenya



This International Festival is modeled after the renowned Hay Festival held in the UK every year in the month of May which attracts 100 000 plus people who would include Celebrities, Authors, Fans and even Presidents. Story Moja Hay Festival is a partnership between Story Moja ( A publishing company) and The Hay Festival, that organizes other festivals in Europe and South America.
The event runs for 3 days and is packed with activities that provide a platform for celebrating stories, Ideas, writing, story telling, workshops, demonstrations, open mike sessions, skits, music, live discussion forums, exhibitions, competitions and live performances. Traditionally held in late July at the Impala club grounds Nairobi-Kenya, the festival organizers aim to influence and encourage a reading culture that impacts the day to day life of the locals by offering forums for discussion and debate so that they may be able to find solutions to their problems by exploring their stories and situations.
Nobel Laureates Wole Soyinka and Kenya’s own Professor Wangari Mathaai along other renowned local and international narrators and writers, poets and environmentalist have graced the event in recent years. The fair features over 100 events based on various themes like Literature, Environment, Gender, ICT, Health, Diversity, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Culture, Beauty & Self development.
