DAR ES SALAAM INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR



Popularly known as “Saba Saba” which literally means “seven seven” because it’s held on the seventh day of the seventh month every year (7th July), was first held shortly after the Tanzanian Independence as an Agricultural show event to help promote farming products plus other local products. This day coincides with Workers Day, which is a National holiday and the Fair is held at Mwalimu J.K Nyerere Trade fair grounds about 8 km south of Dar es salaam
This trade fair which has been held for the last 30 plus years is a major promotional event organized by the Board of External Trade and seeks to encourage global business partnerships by giving a platform for international and specialized trade fairs, solo exhibitions product & market research Trade missions and meetings between buyers and sellers, besides giving out trade info and consultancy services.
The Trade fair is an opportunity for showcasing not just Tanzanian products but also products from East, Central, South African countries and from overseas. Time has seen this event grow in the number of exhibitors over 1500 and visitors at around 500 000 which includes 5000 Business visitors and 4000 overseas visitors, with the rest public members.
Profile of the Exhibitors would include - Agricultural products, Textiles, ICT – Computer software, Construction materials, Automobiles, Electrical goods & appliances, Farm implements, Engineering products, Chemicals & Cosmetics, Trade services, Gift articles and handicrafts.
